Learning Space Project

Inspiration

These images provide examples of the atmosphere, natural elements, and colors I used for inspiration while brainstorming ideas for this learning environment design project.

Research

I have an affinity for incorporating biophilic designs into learning environments. Not only do these concepts promote positive learning habits and social interactions, however they also boost the health and overall well being of students and teachers. After researching articles that discuss the benefits of biophilic designs in classrooms, my project partner and I chose to use hues of greens, oranges, and greys, along with natural elements, in our learning space design.

Ideation

After comparing ideas with my project partner, we landed on a design layout that includes a 2-story learning space that house a classroom, collaboration space, wood shop, and digital fabrication studio. Some other design elements include a refreshment bar, elevator, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a slide.
